Stand Still

Evey year when I return home from CHA I find myself not only rejuvenated but also highly reflective. It is always a joy to be surrounded by the amazing talent and beauty of friends. New products and ideas leap out of the booths of CHA and into the aisles of the trade show almost as if they are beckoning one to come a wee bit closer; offering up an invitation of creativity and inspiration.

With this amazing experience comes a bit of longing. While hours are spent connecting with amazing artists, retailers, creators, authors and more there are also those moments of wondering what is going on at home. I find myself pondering what the little man might be doing. My mind fills with the moments of longing, knowing that as hard as it is for him to have both parents out of town at the same time that it is even harder for us to be away. It is difficult to miss those small moments that create the memories that weave the fabric of a lifetime. 

Yesterday I took in each moment of the day, experienced each minute and relished in the comfort of home. My heart filled with immense joy as I watched the Little Man as he ran into the bedroom with the biggest grin upon his face; definitely a perfect greeting, one that I longed for in the 8 days I was away. 

After starting the day packing lunch, grocery shopping and running errands it was time to unpack. As I did so I nestled my Iphone into the Bose Speaker, chose the amazing Hillary Weeks and listened as her words flowed through the air and into my heart. I could not help but feel this was the perfect binding for my CHA moments and experiences. 

That said I share with you the simple but eloquent words from Hillary's Stand Still. Lyrics that touched me so deeply and made me ever thankful for each moment I had as well as all of those I do have at home!
