Rebound v 1. To spring or bounce back after hitting or colliding with something.
Two weeks have passed since I last posted however it has not been for lack of anything to share or say but rather time. These last two weeks I collided with some serious time issues as well as a to do list that looked a lot like the Sunday edition of the New York Times. That said I am bouncing back from my collision with reality.
I learned something very valuable these during my days away from my blog, I am not super human nor will I be in my life time. I am not able to do everything in one hours time and still give my family what I need and above all I am not taking the time to enjoy my greatest treasures or the journey I am on.
I have always had the mindset that I must be moving, doing and accomplishing each and every moment; relax has never been a word in my vocabulary that I easily embrace. However as of late I have taken it to the extreme, life is not being enjoyed and those around me are suffering. The only answer to this dilemma a time out. What I took from this lesson was far greater than I anticipated.
It is important to me that I share with you my top 6 from my list of lessons; and in doing so I am freeing, myself admitting to the entire world I know I am only human. In doing so I am hopeful each one of you will perhaps take a moment to just be, absorb and delight in what is.
What I Learned
1. I am extremely self competitive, once I have accomplished something I look only towards the next bigger step. I need to allow myself the time to enjoy my accomplishment.
2. I cannot do everything, no matter how hard I try.
3. I must set the same time standards for myself as I do my child (and stick with them)
4. I love what I do and often times I allow it to consume me instead of me consuming it.
5. I truly do feel blessed and so very fortunate to live my dream, it is time for me to once again enjoy the journey as an active participant.
6. Creativity is a gift, a gift that allows me to free what is in my heart and soul it should be cherished.
So there you have it, the top 6 lessons I learned although they may not be life changing for all they are pivotal to me! I find myself with the ball in my hands ready to rebound, move forward and enjoy the moments that are my life.
