Write On
There is another who loves the pencil as much as I - posting about it recently. The beauty of the pencil still grabs my attention. The fragrance that escapes the layers of wood and lead is consuming to me. There is nothing better than the sound of the pointed lead moving across the page wooing me with the calming chant that is created as each word is written.
Up until recently I only favored the Ticonderoga variety, simple, reliable and time tested. However, I came across an amazing website full of my favorite things. History, tales and PENCILS. Lovely cedar pencils beckoning to find their way into my home. How could I resist? The two sets of wonderful lovelies arrived last week and what is a girl to do when she has an extra set - alter them of course. A wee bit of vintage paper, blue satin ribbon and a painted clothes pin creates a vignette of sorts that is conveniently placed on my desk. So, to the love of a good pencil I say "Write On", "Write On My Friends."

I love this, Kristen and cedar? Oh how wonderful, I would love to try them ~ I'll have to go take a look at the link, xxoo, Dawn

What a lovely sight. . . and a grand idea - a vignette on your desk. Inspiring. Glad you're back from jury duty. Rest up. Then, art up!

Lead pencils bring back so many school memories.

Funny the things we take such a small thing for granted. The smell of a pencil reminds me vaguely of the smell of the lumber mills in the town where I spent a lot of my childhood. But it would have never occurred to me to actually wax poetic about the smell or pencils. I think that will definitely be changing and for the better.
